Pearl Jam closed out Saturday's Global Citizen Festival in New York City's Central Park with a short but historic set. A "normal" Pearl Jam concert might see the band stretch things out to around 3 hours and 30+ songs. This festival setting would mean a shorter time on stage, but they made up for it with memorable moments.

The Global Citizen website states that: "Global Citizen is a community of people... who want to learn about and take action on the world’s biggest challenges—and use their power to get other people involved too." Pearl Jam closed out its 12-song set with three covers: "Imagine" (John Lennon), "Rockin' in the Free World" (Neil Young) and most notably, Bob Marley's "Redemption Song" which saw Eddie Vedder team up with Beyoncé.

Global Citizen will go down as Pearl Jam's one and only appearance in the U.S. this year. This November, the band will have a handful of shows in South America and one show in Mexico City. There are rumblings of work on a new album in 2016. My guess is we'll see some U.S. shows next year as well.
