I finally made the trek to Vintage Torquefest in Dubuque, and ran my donated mini bike in the beginners class.  What a great time, and cool group of folks to hang out with!  While my riding skills were suspect, just about everyone I saw gave me a smile or thumbs up--even the other "Evel" who was there got a selfie to mark the occasion.

Vintage Torquefest is a fundraising event, and this year the organizers were able to give two families $10,000 each through Helping Hannah's Heart Foundation.
The mini that I rode will be raffled online this week, with the money raised also going to HHH.  The idea started out like a lot of our stuff, just mentioning the mini bike races, and how cool it would be to dress up like Evel and participate, and raise a little money in the process.  Then listener Jeff went ahead and donated the mini bike.  Legendary House of Kolor pinstriper Jim Hetzler took time from his own Torquefest preparations to put a little custom flair on the bike--  I can't thank these guys enough. They are part of what makes doing radio here so rewarding.

My addition was the framed autographed Evel Knievel photo.  It's zip tied to the handle bars and comes with the bike to the winner of the raffle.  Details tomorrow!

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
