Donutland Restaurant Unharmed By Nearby Fire

The shed behind the Donutland restaurant on Center Point road in Cedar Rapids was destroyed by fire, but fortunately, the blaze ended there. Firefighters were called to the scene just before 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon and found the small shed behind Donutland on fire.

The fire was put out with the shed being a total loss. Another nearby shed also received some damage. Fire officials say the blaze was started by improperly discarded smoking materials that ignited some nearby leaves.

No injuries were reported.
