District 23 Restaurant Now Open in Cedar Rapids

Another new Cedar Rapids restaurant is welcoming customers. However, this one is much more than just a restaurant.

Earlier this week, we shared that Napoli's Italian Restaurant in Marion is adding a second location on Cedar Rapids' west side. That side of the city also has another new addition, and it's already open.

The building at 2825 6th St. SW was a Godfather's Pizza when I spent some time working in the kitchen there longer ago than I care to admit. Yes, Godfather's has been gone from that location for many years and now there's a new owner and restaurant in the building.

District 23 opened this week. Hayden Construction of Cedar Rapids did the buildout for the new business and provided us with the photos in this story.

We'll take a look at District 23's varied food offerings and menu in a moment. However, it's not all about the food at District 23. According to their Facebook page, it's a restaurant, bar, and a dance and night club. Move the tables out of the way and there's plenty of room to move your feet.

This Saturday, July 22, District 23 is hosting a Cumbia Night, including a DJ.
