Iowa police say two Des Moines area Wal Mart stores were the targets of bomb threats earlier today that were found to be false.

No explosives were found after authorities in Altoona and Windsor Heights evacuated two Walmart stores Wednesday morning around 7:23 a.m. Cops did not say if they had any leads as to whom may have been responsible for the threats.

Police did say the threats were not credible, as they did not find any explosives at either store.

KCRG News, a Windsor Heights police spokesperson said “Walmart management did exactly what they should have done during this mornings incident”

Emergency responders arrived quickly and searched both buildings but found nothing. No injuries or damage was reported.

Police did not release any information on suspects or possible motives.

The bomb threats were especially unsettling following last week's shooting massacre at an El Paso Wal Mart where many were killed and injured by a lone gunman.
