Iowa Arts Festival
- Downtown Iowa City

  - May 31st beginning at 5:30 p.m.
  - June 1st beginning at 10 a.m.

Weekly Racing: Big 8 Night
- Hawkeye Downs Speedway and Expo Center
- May 31st - Gates open at 5 p.m./race begins at 7:30 p.m.
- "See more than 20 of the best late model drivers in the Midwest race for the series opener. The Big 8 drivers will be signing autographs! PLUS don’t forget your favorite weekly drivers will be racing that night too!"
- Tickets are $10 for ages 18 to 54, $7 for ages 9 to 17 and 55+, and free for children under 8 with a paid adult
Iowa Renaissance Festival

- "Stroll through six living history encampments and an artisan merchant village where you can emerge in full costume.
