According to KNIA/KRLS, it is believed Blake Schroder, of Leighton, Iowa, was hit by a round from "a member of his large hunting party." He died as a result of the shooting.

KCCI says the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner will be conducting an autopsy. The investigation into the shooting that caused Schroder's death continues.

Another hunting accident over the weekend injured 39-year-old Ronald Butler of Macksburg, Iowa. Radio Iowa says he was shot when he exited his vehicle and dropped his gun. He was flown to a Des Moines hospital and his condition has not been released.

The Iowa DNR website says there have been 16 hunting accidents in Iowa this year. Eight have involved personal injuries and seven have resulted in property damage. Blake Schroder is the first fatality.
