A Cedar Rapids man is facing charges after robbing a woman at gunpoint in the parking lot of the Oakland Road Hy-Vee in Cedar Rapids.

Cedar Rapids police were called to the Hy-Vee store at around 3 p.m. yesterday afternoon for a report of an armed robbery. The victim told police that a man got into her car, pointed a handgun at her, and took some cash. The suspect was identified as 21-year-old Anthony Bartlett. Police spotted Bartlett walking on the north side of the Hy-Vee store. When officers approached, he ran. He was ordered on to the ground after he appeared to reach for his weapon.

Officers recovered the weapon, which was reported stolen in 2017, and marijuana from Bartlett. He's been charged with second-degree robbery, carrying a weapon, trafficking in stolen weapons, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, and interference with official acts.

Police say they do not believe that the robbery was random.
