Longtime sportscaster Brent Musburger announced his retirement from broadcasting this week. The 77-year-old began his career with CBS back in 1973 and has called everything from college football games in Iowa City, to Big Monday basketball games in Ames.

Musburger called his share of football games in Iowa, in particular, Hawkeye games. In fact, Musberger had the call in one of the most famous Iowa games of all time. #1 Iowa against #2 Michigan in 1985.

Musburger would say he always remembered how competitive Iowa always was whenever he called a game at Kinnick Stadium.

Musburger is also well known over in Ames. He's called six Big Monday games that have featured the Iowa State Cyclones. Musburger's last call will be a basketball game. Kentucky versus Georgia next Tuesday will be his last game at the mic.
