**UPDATE** The 2020-21 Big Ten football season is officially canceled. See the official press release here or from the tweet below.

The COVID-19 pandemic isn't slowing and either are the issues its causing. The upcoming college football season is in jeopardy as the Big Ten conference has voted to cancel  the whole season according to numerous reports including Bleacher Report.

This means it's unlikely we'll have an Iowa Hawkeye football season in 2020, unless something changes very quick, or the vote falls through. Other Big Ten teams include Nebraska, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, Northwestern and Purdue. According to the report, Iowa and Nebraska voted to have the season as planned, but were outvoted. The announcement of the cancellation is expected to come tomorrow, Tuesday August 11.

As for the Iowa State Cyclones, they're a member of the Big 12 which is yet to commit to a season, or a cancellation. It's unclear as of now what school wish to play or when a formal vote will be held. Late last week, we received word the MVFC conference, which is the UNI Panthers conference, will move its season to the spring.
