At Least One County Fair in Iowa is Still on for This Summer
With all of the cancellations for 2020, I'm pleased to announce the Jackson County Fair in Maquoketa is still going on as planned.
The Jackson County Fair officials have said everything will go on as scheduled. That includes live music, the rides, food and the beer garden. It will be like most years, but with a few changes due to COVID-19.
They addressed that situation on their website with a release. It said, "We are concerned about protecting the health and well-being of our community and all of those who are a part of the IOWA Jackson County Fair in any way. We are working on redesigning the Grandstand layout to incorporate social distancing rules."
It sounds like the organizers are doing their best to still have the fair and make sure that everyone is safe. The Jackson County fair will run from July 28 to August 2, 2020.
I've been working with the folks at the Jackson County Fair for the last three years. It's a group of pretty awesome people that volunteer their time to make this event a success every year. I'm really looking forward to my annual trip to Maquoketa this summer.
