Arrest Made In Shooting Death of Iowa Teen

Police have made an arrest in the shooting death of a teenager at a New Year's Eve party in Sioux City, Iowa. 19 year old Christopher Morales was arrested on January 3rd and charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon and going armed with intent, according to People.

The charges are related to the January 1st shooting death of 18 year old Mia Alexis-Marie Kritis. According to KMEG, Kritis was just three weeks shy of graduating from high school and planned on going to school to become a nurse. People reports that three others were also struck by gunfire. They are currently recovering from their injuries.

Police say that are still looking for additional shooters involved in the incident. Police allege that Morales and others had a late night confrontation outside of the party house in Sioux City on New Year's Eve. They eventually opened fire on the house using handguns and assault style rifles to shoot out windows and through walls. Police say they believe there were 20 to 25 people in the house at the time.

People reports that police officials say that they don't believe the shooting was gang related, and that they are pursuing leads to try and determine a motive. Police also say that the would like to talk to other party goers. Many of them fled before police arrived on the scene. Officials say they don't plan to charge anyone with underage drinking, they just want to catch the shooters.
