An 11-Year-Old Iowa Boy Wants Racing Stickers for His Casket

It's hard to read this story without tearing up.

11-year-old Caleb Hammond of Oskaloosa, Iowa is a warrior. Caleb has fought hard in his battle against leukemia, but unfortunately, the treatments for the cancer have not been successful. According to CBS 2:

"His family returned him to Oskaloosa after determining the painful treatments he'd been undergoing at a Des Moines hospital weren't working and other options offered little hope."

Caleb was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 9, and he and his family have been doing everything they can to fight it. They traveled to Tennessee in back in January for a bone marrow transplant, but the leukemia came back even stronger. That's when they decided to bring him home.

Caleb has been home for about three weeks now, doing the kid things he hasn't been able to do because of his treatments and hospital stays. The most exciting thing he was given the opportunity to do was to drive a hobby stock race car. He happens to be a HUGE racing fan, which brings us to how YOU can help Caleb.

Caleb is requesting racing stickers that will cover his casket when he passes away. The family has received a huge outpouring of support so far, but if you'd like to contribute, stickers and cards can be sent to 314 North J Street, Oskaloosa, IA 52577. Local Cedar Rapids restaurant Runt's Munchies has also offered to send in stickers that are dropped off at their restaurant at 529 5th Ave SE.
