A Shop That Bakes Fresh Cookies is Opening in the Corridor

HOLY SMOKES.

Just this morning, an advertisement popped up in my Facebook newsfeed for a new bakery that's making its way to the Corridor. It's called Cookies & Dreams, and it looks INCREDIBLE.

Cookies & Dreams is a female-owned business that started right here in Iowa. According to the website, owner Stephanie learned to bake from her babysitter when she was just a kid. After college, she decided to start a baking business, but it eventually became too much for her and she gave it up. Later on down the line, she and her husband Bill opened up a restaurant/bar here in Iowa, and Stephanie noticed that the best-selling item was her chocolate chip cookies. When a string of bad Iowa weather forced the business to close down, Stephanie decided to focus on her cookies, and Cookies & Dreams was born! The website reads:

"Led by a talented group of intelligent women - Cookies & Dreams is growing more rapidly than we could have dreamed. Our mission is to empower women to follow their dreams, never give up & show up for one another in incredible ways."

Cookies & Dreams currently has two locations here in Iowa: one in Davenport and one in Bettendorf. The Coralville location will be the first one to open in the Corridor. It's located at 901 E 2nd Avenue in the Iowa River Landing, and the soft opening will take place this Friday and Saturday, July 16th and 17th.

During the soft opening, Cookies & Dreams is going to be doing a couple of giveaways. On Friday, the first 50 customers get a voucher for a free half-dozen cookies, and on Saturday, customers will receive a free mini chocolate chip cookie (while supplies last). They are open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. both days, and then will reopen the following Thursday, July 22nd through Saturday the 24th from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

I was looking through the menu on Cookies & Dreams website, and I honestly can't decide which one I want to try first. Puppy Chow? Peanut Butter? Snickerdoodle Cheesecake? Slutty? Green Velvet? They all sound AMAZING. Check out the Facebook page HERE for some more delicious-looking photos!
