If you're looking for a unique new dining experience, consider being one of the first customers to check out the hip-stir in Marion!

We first got word of the hip-stir earlier this year, when it was announced that the new restaurant would be moving into the former Ramsey's Wine Bistro at 1120 7th Avenue in Marion. According to an April article from the Cedar Rapids Gazette, owner Justin Zehr wanted to bring  a new dining experience to Uptown Marion. He said, “We want to try to give people something a little different. We want to make sure we’re rounding out that neighborhood and not congesting it with the same (type of food.)” Justin is also the owner of other unique restaurants like LP Street Food and Moco Game Room & Hot Dog Bar, so he seems to know what he's doing! Here's a look at the menu for the new restaurant:

When the Gazette article was initially published, it said that the hip-stir would be open for outdoor dining first, with indoor dining coming later. Well, we're here to report that the outdoor dining has begun! Just yesterday, the official Facebook page for the hip-stir wrote:

"We’re ready for you! The hip-stir is offering patio dining options til we open for full service inside in the later fall months. The patio service includes new and fabulous cocktails, wine and local beer options plus an incredible food menu made by none other than Tim Oathout. You won’t be disappointed by calling and reserving a spot on our patio to see what all the hype’s about. I promise you - it’s worth it."

As of right now, the hip-stir is open Wednesday through Saturday for dinner service. They hope to open for the rest of the week and for lunch in the near future. The patio only has six tables, so space is limited. If you'd like to call and make a reservation on the patio, you can call the restaurant at  (319) 200-5465. The interior of the restaurant is expected to open for diners sometime in October.
