On my way home from work yesterday, I decided to stop and get some lunch at the Wendy's on 1st Avenue in Cedar Rapids. While I was waiting in the drive-thru, I happened to notice a bar across the street that I've never heard of before. The sign says it's called 3 Nineteen Arcade and Bar, and I'm happy to report that it's expected to open soon!

When I got home, I pulled out my phone and started doing a little research. There isn't a ton of information about 3 Nineteen on social media, but I was able to locate a Facebook page and Instagram account for the business. The arcade/bar is located at 1323 1st Ave SE, which formerly housed the Thirsty Turtle Tavern and Uptown Live. The signs outside the building boast that the new hot spot has a golf simulator, pool, air hockey, basketball, Pac-Man, and more.

The Instagram account notes that 3 Nineteen will also host karaoke, have games like Giant Jenga and beer pong, and serve food. There is no official opening date listed anywhere, but it looks like they hope to open in October. That timeline could have changed, though. A post from August 11th indicated that the grand opening could potentially be delayed because of the derecho that came through the area. When it does eventually open, the door outside the business says it will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
