[UPDATED: Advisory Lifted] Boil Water Advisory has Been Issued for Areas of Cedar Rapids

[UPDATE 8:20 a.m. Saturday, June 4]  The boil advisory has been lifted after tests determined the water is safe to consume.

water main break at F Ave and 18^th Street NW has caused a disruption, which could potentially cause some water contamination.

If you live within the following areas, a boil water advisory has been issued as a precaution:

• F Avenue NW  to the north
• 25th Street SW to the west
• 16th Avenue SW to the south
• 13th Street SW to the east

A reminder to people that are pregnant, nursing, or have infants under six months of age, DO NOT consume boiled water, use bottled water ONLY. If you are able to boil water, these are the basic instructions:

• Bring water to a boil
• Let it rapidly boil for at least 1 minute
• Allow to cool completely before consuming
