3 Iowa Teachers Left Their Jobs and Started a Coffee Truck
Naomi Gretter, Sky Hahn, and Kari Berg have quite a bit in common. They are all former public school teachers here in Iowa, they are all married to farmers, and now they all run a coffee truck together!
The next time you're out and about in the Washington County or Keokuk County area, be on the lookout for a truck full of coffee! According to a new article from the Des Moines Register, three Iowa women have started a new business called Rural Revival. The mobile coffee shop is available for local festivals, fundraisers, weddings, corporate events, and more.
The Des Moines Register reports that Naomi, Sky, and Kari decided to quit their teaching jobs to pursue their new career venture, but that it wasn't easy to leave their classrooms behind. Ultimately, the three women wanted to have a little more balance in their lives and become their own bosses. The article reads:
"Gretter, Berg and Hahn realized their mental health was suffering as they were trying to maintain their careers in the public school system during the COVID-19 pandemic while juggling family responsibilities at home."
Rural Revival held their grand opening back in April and serves a variety of beverages, including smoothies, cold brew, lattes, flavored lemonade, frappes, frozen hot chocolate, chai tea, and, of course, regular coffee. The coffee beans come from Java House Coffee Roasters in Iowa City.
Rural Revival posts their schedule on their social media accounts, and this week they will be at the World Pork Expo in Des Moines, at James Family Greenhouse in Sigourney, and Keota Fun Days. You can follow their Facebook page for the latest updates HERE.
