2021 MLB Pre-Season Power Rankings and Predicted Winners
April 1 was Opening Day of the 2021 Major League Baseball Season. Fans are slowly getting back into the baseball stadiums, well some are moving slowly-- some are just going crazy (looking at you Texas Rangers), to watch a game and grab a beer & a dog.
Today I am going to write up my pre-season MLB Power Rankings and then share with you, the reader, who TRoy and Jay picked to win divisions, wild cards, and World Series that we shared on "Don't Hassle Us We're Local"
So here we go...
BEFORE THE 2021 MLB FIRST PITCH POWER RANKINGS FOR ALL 3O MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL TEAMS
- Los Angeles Dodgers-- have to give it to the defending World Series Champions
- San Diego Padres-- love this team, love the uniforms, love the front office
- New York Yankees-- "Cheering for the Yankees is like cheering for the house to win in blackjack" -Bill Simmons
- Minnesota Twins-- have them winning the World Series this year- spoiler alert
- New York Mets-- looking at a win now team philosophy and front office has been making players very happy
- Atlanta Braves-- the East Coast version of the Padres. Young and fun to watch.
- Chicago White Sox-- the loss of Jimenez hurt but still a very powerful roster
- St. Louis Cardinals-- the NL Central is not strong this year. Pitching will carry them to division win
- Houston Astros-- the Astros cheated.
- Oakland A's-- always in the mix to be a post-season contender
- Washington Nationals--great pitching and Soto and Robles are superstars for years to come
- Toronto Blue Jays-- young talent and off season acquisitions will have the Jays fighting in the AL East
- Tampa Bay Rays-- they just don't go away and no-one can name 4 starters for their team. People in Tampa CAN'T name 4 starters on the Rays
- Chicago Cubs-- an early 10-2 record will push the Cubs into the Top 10 by Week 2.
- Philadelphia Phillies-- did you think I would let a Bryce Harper team fall to the bottom half of the rankings???
- Los Angeles Angles-- I am a fan of Ohtani
- Milwaukee Brewers-- another team that will always push for post season play
- Miami Marlins-- a young pitching staff and strong team manager
- Kansas City Royals-- hopefully we see some of their future talent at Modern Woodmen Park for QC River Bandit games
- Boston Red Sox-- the Red Sox will take their lumps in a strong AL East division. Will only make them better
- Cincinnati Reds-- will this team ever contend??
- Cleveland Indians-- who wants to watch Major League instead of watch this team play?
- Seattle Mariners-- James Paxton is back and and the rotation is still young
- San Francisco Giants-- meh
- Arizona Diamondbacks-- keep your radar on players like Josh Rojas and Tim Locastro
- Texas Rangers-- will allow 100% attendance. That is the best thing I can write about this team
- Colorado Rockies-- Trevor Story will NOT be a Rockie at the end of the year
- Detroit Tigers-- see the Cincinnati Reds
- Baltimore Orioles-- Trey Mancini will be a "Comeback Player of the Year" candidate
- Pittsburgh Pirates-- Ke'Bryan Hayes is the only thing to write about the Pirates. He is probably going to win NL Rookie of the Year
