California-based alt band Young the Giant is coming to Cedar Rapids this summer to headline the NewBo Music Festival presented by The National. Young the Giant saw breakout success with their self-titled debut album in 2010 and have received widespread acclaim for their exhilarating live shows.

They released their sophomore album, Mind Over Matter, in early 2014 via Fueled by Ramen. Their second album rocketed up the charts with singles like "It's About Time" and "Crystallized" -- check out both of those songs below.

This year, Young the Giant participated in Record Store Day on Saturday, April 18 by releasing an exclusive 10" vinyl of their single "Mirrorball" off their second album.

You can see Young the Giant in Cedar Rapids on Saturday, August 8th at NewBo City Market as they headline the NewBo Music Festival presented by The National. Joining them are Allen Stone, MINT, Dickie (Dick Prall), The Full Body Tones, and Shapes & Colors.
