You Could Be Making $100 An Hour To Hug Strangers
Are you dissatisfied with your current job? Are you not making the money you think you deserve? Do you generally have no sense of personal boundaries? Is your favorite kitchen utensil a Big Spoon?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, do I have the career for you!
In case you haven't heard of the hottest new trend in therapy, professional cuddling is 100% a thing. There are actually people out who are looking for a basic human connection that will book a therapeutic cuddle session with a certified professional cuddler. Yes, this is real. Yes, this is legal. Strictly cuddling, fellas.
So how much are professional cuddlers making? Sessions booked on Cuddlist are $80, but the price can also depend on the cuddler. Some professional cuddlers can make $100 an hour, or $800 for *cough* overnight sessions. Strictly. Cuddling.
Clients book sessions for a variety of reasons, including coping with loneliness or divorce, plus for treatment from PTSD or a degenerative disease like Parkinson's or ALS. So that part makes this gig seem like a pretty cool idea. That being said, can we all agree the fact that you can literally get paid hundreds of dollars to cuddle with a complete stranger is...slightly weird? Just a tad? Seriously, why did I even go to college?
For the record, if anyone is interested in booking a professional cuddling session, my fee is $5 and a 40.
