You may have seen this circulating through the internet over the years. It’s been dubbed “The Worst Death Scene Ever.” I was intrigued by its, uh, ‘acting’ and wanted to know more about this film. So I did some digging…

It’s a Turkish film from 1973 called “Karateci Kiz” which, in English, translates to ‘Karate Girl.” The female lead is played by then-30-year-old Filiz Akin. She acted in over 100 films and has been deemed as one of the most influential actresses of her time. But I’m not sure if she wants to be known for ‘Karate Girl.”

The 125-minute film has only a 3.7/10 score on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB)

Here’s the synopsis:

Zeynep (Filiz Akin) lives with her old father. She has lost her ability to speak because of an accident. She needs an operation in order to be able to talk again. One day, five prison fugitives come to their house steals some money and kills her father. Due to the shock, Zeynep regains her ability to speak. SHE WANTS REVENGE, so she learns how to use a gun and takes some karate lessons. She falls in love with her instructor (who is also a police officer) and they get married. But at their wedding, the same fugitives kill her husband. She then hunts down the fugitives one by one.

Wow. I’m sold. If you haven’t seen this before, hold on to your popcorn, it’s about to get deadly…

Unfortunately, his death screams were not in the original film, they were added to the clip when it first when viral in 2012.

Here's a longer version of that scene. This is the English-dubbed version and sadly, it doesn't feature the 'death screams' by the villain, but it does contain his mustache.
