Harris, the 10-year-old Asian short-clawed otter, lost his longtime best friend and romantic partner Apricot, and after he grew extremely lonely, his caretakers got worried by his sad demeanor.

In an effort to find him a new mate, his caretakers at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Cornwall, England, decided to make an otters-only dating app called Fishing for Love.

Soon after its creation, Harris met Pumpkin, a nice lady otter from Yorkshire’s Sea Life Scarborough Sanctuary, who also had become a widowed otter.

“Sea Life Scarborough otter has found love in time for Christmas,” the sanctuary wrote in a press release announcing the good news. “After searching the entire lonely-hearts section, and a few bad swipes later,” they discovered Harris’ profile, who they decided was the perfect mate for Pumpkin.

“It’s best to introduce a new male into a female’s territory so that the male more easily submits to the female on first meeting,” the release explained. Following the pair’s initial meeting and romance at Sea Life, they’re officially making a home there.
