Which Local Choir Will Sing With Foreigner in Cedar Rapids?
94.1 KRNA and Foreigner will invite a local high school choir onstage to sing with the band on their classic, “I Want to Know What Love Is”, on Thursday March 29, at the U.S. Cell Center in Cedar Rapids.
Here’s all you have to do:
- Get your high school choir director to video record your choir's performance of a Foreigner song.
- Have your choir director upload the video to YouTube, then include that You Tube link when you fill out the official entry page below.
- The submitted song can be a snippet or a full-length version of the Foreigner song.
- We've extended the entry deadline: Your video needs to be uploaded and your entry form submitted by 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27.
KRNA will post the choir video links here and on our Facebook page and encourage our listeners to vote for the choir they’d like to see perform with Foreigner.
Voting will begin Wednesday, February 28 at 6:00 a.m. and end Monday March 5 at 5:00 p.m. You can only vote once.
The band has been doing this promotion and using choirs at their North American shows for the past eight years. Every year it has grown in popularity and gotten more successful each successive year.
Foreigner donates $500.00 to the choir for them to use as they see fit for their choir program.
In addition, the choir along with the choir director and five adult chaperones will sell a Foreigner CD to concertgoers before the show.
The proceeds from these CD sales are donated by Foreigner to the Grammy Foundation for high schools music programs!
And get this...everyone who buys a CD also receives a raffle ticket. After the show, the band holds a raffle where the person with the winning raffle ticket wins an auotgraphed guitar! How sweet it that?!?
Foreigner is a very charitable minded band, they really enjoy giving back to local communities; and the band loves having the kids perform with them onstage. And, of course, the kids are the biggest winners because it gives them a memory and experience of a lifetime.
So spread the word and tell your friends to vote!
Jaymz Larson and Mike Ferris will reveal the winner on Tuesday, March 6 at 7:15 a.m. on 94.1 KRNA.
