UPDATE: A news release from the City of Cedar Rapids now states Twin Pines, 3800 42nd St. NE is opening for public use on Wednesday, March 27. The course opens for the season on that date and its hours of operation will be 9 a.m. to dusk daily. It will be open for walkers only at this time, no golf carts allowed.

Winter broke, Spring arrived and everyone's cabin fever instantly disappeared.

One of the first questions on everyone's minds was when the golf courses would open. The short answer is, soon.

The news came this week that Airport National Golf Course was ready to go and open. Their Facebook page notes they are officially open and ready:

Remaining courses in Cedar Rapids will be open as conditions allow. For the most part, it is still too wet, and cool, from this Winter's snow and recent rain to make that determination. Dave Roe, interim golf manager with the City of Cedar Rapids estimates Gardner golf course will be open Monday, April 1, with Ellis to follow on Wednesday, April 3.

It's likely that Jones will be the last one to open, as there is still flood damage being repaired from last Fall.

Things are on the upswing here in Cedar Rapids and we're ready to play through!
