Are people getting sick of Facebook?

According to a new study, social media usage has gone down in the last year. The study looked at data from Android phones in nine different countries, and determined that in almost all of the countries, people aren't using social media as much as they did last year.

In the United States, Americans used Twitter about 28% less, Facebook around 7% less, Instagram about 36% less, and Snapchat about 19% less. It was suggested that maybe people are switching over to using desktop versions of these apps because the upkeep on their phone is annoying, but I think it's something else. I find myself using social media less and less because it consumes so much of my time and energy. I feel like I'm always staring at my phone. Also, I'm frustrated by the lack of respect people have for one another when they can hide behind their computer screen, and how quickly people are to judge one another. I'm sick of Facebook hoaxes and false news stories being passed off as real. Don't get me wrong, I like social media just as much as the next guy, but I like apps like Instagram because they're more light-hearted and fun. But hey, that's just me!

Would you say you're using any of these apps less than you have in the past? Let us know in the comments!
