Volunteers Wanted for Tornado Clean Up Help
The City of Marshalltown is now accepting volunteers for those that want to help with cleanup after Thursday's tornado. The NWS said it was an EF-3 tornado that ravaged the town. Amazingly no one was killed.
According to CBS2 News, if you want to volunteer, report to the Hy-Vee Parking lot and contact the Salvation Army. They will take your name down. If you need help from volunteers, do the same thing. The Salvation Army will then match volunteers with people who need help.
A dumpster for debris downtown is located behind the Tremont building in the parking lot. The Compost Facility at 901 Woodland Street will be open for free tree debris drop-off until further notice, closing at 8:00 p.m. each evening. No building debris will be accepted.
At this time, food is not needed. Local leaders are encouraging monetary donations be made to the American Red Cross and The Salvation Army of Marshalltown.
