Year after year, Vintage Torque Fest continues to prove why it brings in the crowds and the fun. It was another stellar year, and now that the 2026 weekend has wrapped up, it's clear this year delivered on everything fans expect and then some.

I spent Friday at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds, and it didn't take long to get pulled into the action. The American Iron racing series brought vintage stock cars to life in a way that felt raw and real.
The demo derby kept the crowd loud (Speedy won!), and the Surf Zombies delivered a set that fit the high-energy atmosphere perfectly.
One of my favorite moments of the night was the flame throwing car exhibition. Standing close enough to feel the heat on a chilly evening made it even better, especially seeing how much my son loved every second of it.
Beyond the track and stage, the fairgrounds were packed with vendors and artists. Walking through the buildings, you could feel how much creativity and passion fuels this event. It is not just about cars. It is about the people who build, restore, create, and share this lifestyle.

As big as the entertainment side is, the heart of Vintage Torque Fest has always been its mission. Organizers announced that the 2026 event raised nearly $25,000 for two families, bringing the total to $265,000 raised over the past 17 years. That money goes directly to families in need through the Helping Hannah’s Heart Foundation. There are no big corporate sponsors driving that number. It comes from the people who show up, buy tickets, and support the cause.
Attendance held strong this year with well over 700 vehicles on display and visitors traveling from across the country and even overseas. According to the event organizers, people came in from states like Texas, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota, along with international attendees from England. Camping numbers were also up on-site, showing how much this event means to the vintage community and its members.
None of this happens without the volunteers, organizers, and supporters who put in countless hours to make it all work. Their effort shows in every detail, from the racing lineup to the music, from the food and drink stands to the overall experience at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds. Everyone did their part to make it memorable and amazing!
If you attended this year, you already know how special it felt. If you missed it, make a plan for April 30th and May 1st, 2027. Either way, the story of 2026 doesn't end here. Some of the best moments from the weekend were not just in the races or on stage, they were sitting still in the rows of incredible builds that filled the grounds.
