These Spooky Wisconsin Roadways Are Ranked Among America’s Most Haunted
Imagine being scared out of your wits at a house you presume to be haunted or even creepier a cemetery in the middle of the night.
Now take those feelings and drive it, as in driving that road not knowing what you'll see or find.
In Illinois, we have our fair share of haunted roads, especially out where we live with the ghostly Bride of Kennedy Hill or spooktastic Bloods Point Road and all of the super creep that goes along with its super off-putting name.
While both local legend scares qualify as haunted in our neck of the woods, neither made Travel + Leisure's 10 Most Haunted Roads in the U.S. for Supernatural Sightings.
Depending on who you are, that's either a good or bad thing. Either way, just north of us, across the border in Wisconsin, two different roads made the list.
Eerily similar in name to Bloods Point Road and the Bridge of Kennedy Hill, Bloody Bride Bridge makes a combination name of both and it's located in Stevens Point.
According to local lore, a young lady was killed in an accident here on the way to her wedding. She continues to haunt drivers passing by at night, sometimes making an appearance in the back seat of unsuspecting drivers' vehicles or showing up in the rearview mirror, so keep your eyes peeled.
The website also lists Boy Scout Lane in Stevens Point as haunted.
The other roadway featured by Travel + Leisure is Owaissa Street in Appleton, and it appears Riverside Cemetery is haunted.
People claim to have spotted the ghosts of mourners from a different era dressed in old-fashioned clothing here. One spot in particular is thought to be haunted: the grave of Kate Blood.
The legend says Kate Blood "murdered her husband and children with an ax before committing suicide, though a glance at the stone is enough to debunk it. Her husband, George M. Miller, outlived her by 42 years and had married again." according to the Post Crescent.
