The Worst Attraction in Every State
A gentleman on Instagram recently asked all of his followers to name the worst attraction in their state. Matt Shirley posts maps and funny charts on his Instagram page nearly every day. So after gathering comments from over 300,000 people, he created a map of the worst attractions in the United States. I don't think these are the worst, but perhaps overrated?
Lets look around the Midwest. In Minnesota, the worst attraction is The Mall of America. I've been multiple times, and I can confirm it is a big mall. But once you've seen it, you've seen it. Wisconsin's is Wisconsin Dells. Certainly a fun place, but once you've done it, you've done it. Another beauty is in South Dakota. I'm talking about The Corn Palace!
I got to see this a few years ago on a family trip out West. The outside is amazing to see. There is corn everywhere! Inside was a bit of disappointment. But if you're ever in the area, you should at least drive by. Another attraction on the list that I've actually been to is in Seattle, Washington. It is the infamous Gum Wall! This thing is gross! It's actually an entire alley filled with people sticking their gum everywhere!
I'll never forget it, but did I need to see it? Now that leads us to Iowa's worst, or most overrated attraction. At first when I saw this I was outraged. But the more I think about it, the more I realize that if you don't love baseball, or the movie, this means nothing to you. I'm talking about The Field of Dreams.
Now obviously I love this place. I love the movie and I have some great memories of playing baseball with my grandfather at the movie site. We took our kids there several years ago and got to play catch with my son in the outfield. Personally for me, it was heaven.
Not every attraction is going to be for everyone. But I wouldn't call anything on this list the worst a state has to offer. Check out the entire map for yourself HERE.
