In case you're not familiar with Sarah Haines, she is an American host and journalist that is currently a co-host on the show 'The View', according to Wikipedia. Haines is also an Iowa native! She grew up in Newton, Iowa where she attended school at Woodrow Wilson Elementary.

Haines' sixth grade teacher at the elementary school was Katie Helfrich. Helfrich made a big impact on Sarah during her time there. Haines even says Helfrich was the reason that she wanted to become a teacher, reported the Des Moines Register.

During Tuesday's (5/30) live show, the ladies of 'The View' were discussing graduations and got on the topic of their favorite teachers. Little did Haines know that the other ladies and producers had a big surprise in store for her. After Haines shared her love of how her sixth grade teacher, Katie Helfrich, was her favorite teacher growing up, fellow host Whoopi Goldberg revealed the producers of the show had a big surprise for her. Watch the emotional moment unfold in the video below.

As you can see from the clip, the show was filled with joy and tears as the now 90-year-old Mrs. Helfrich took the stage.

No matter how little you may remember of your teachers growing up, they are a big part of shaping who we become as adults. And in some cases, like this one for example, they leave a lasting impact on their students. Do you have a favorite teacher? Maybe you even had Mrs. Helfrich! Let us know in the comments below.
