School is back in session and many college students are getting serious about the degrees they want to pursue.

Getting a master's degree isn't the route that everyone takes, but for those who are pursuing one, one field of study seems to stand out among the rest. Olive Nazarene University published a study that looked at Google search trends to identify the most popularly searched master's degrees in each state.

Here's how they received their data: "We started with a list of more than 150 master’s degree focuses catalogued in the 'Economic Value of College Majors,' a 2015 study by Georgetown University. We then narrowed that list to 17 degrees that had statistically significant national search volume (more than 2,000 searches per month, on average). That list, represents the most popularly searched master’s degrees in America."

The one degree that stood out nation-wide was the Master of Business Administration (MBA) with almost 150,000 searches per month. Just looking at Iowa, it seems as though we have a lot of students seeking their Master of Engineering.

That actually makes a lot of sense, considering we have giant companies such as Collins Aerospace in town. If you went back to school, what would you get a master's degree in? Let us know in the comments.
