According to a new study, Iowans REALLY don't like one healthy food in particular.

The dating app Hater is all about hooking people up with other people who hate the same things. They recently looked at data from their users to figure out the foods that people in each state hate the MOST, and I'm a little surprised by some the results. How anyone could hate cold pizza or chicken nuggets is beyond me (I'm looking at you, Michigan and Arizona).

In Iowa, the most hated food, according to the latest study, is quinoa. If you don't know what quinoa is, first of all, it's pronounced "keen-wa," so whatever you're thinking in your head is probably wrong. Basically, they're tiny gluten-free seeds that healthy people eat instead of rice or other grains. I didn't think I liked quinoa until I came across it in recipes on my mission to eat healthier. Now I make a bomb quinoa-enchilada casserole (I'll share the recipe if you want!). I'm wondering how many people say they hate quinoa, but have never actually tried it. It's not as bad as it sounds!

Here are the foods that people in surrounding states hate the most:

  • Wisconsin - Lunchables (even the pizza ones?!)
  • Minnesota - Beans
  • Missouri - The last bite of a hotdog
  • Illinois - Biting string cheese
  • Nebraska - Chili peppers
  • South Dakota - Expensive cheese plates
