If you enjoy beer, live music, and art, you'll want to head to Uptown Marion on Saturday, May 15th! The Marion Arts & Crafts Fest is happening all over the area from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The official Facebook event page says that the 2021 Arts & Crafts Fest will feature artist demonstrations, local bands, and beer sampling for American Craft Beer Week. Plus, Uptown Marion restaurants and shops will be open and ready to serve customers. Festival organizers are asking that you please respect each business' COVID-19 safety protocols throughout the event.

The 2021 Arts & Crafts Festival is part of an even larger event, the Marion Arts Festival, which is being held virtually this year. A recent article from the Cedar Rapids Gazette says the in-person event typically brings in around 10,000 people. The virtual version is going on now through May 23rd. According to the Marion Arts Festival website:

"The 2021 Marion Arts Festival is virtual, featuring an Iowa-centric slate of artists and well-loved festival traditions translated to online experiences."

The website features a gallery full of ceramics, jewelry, sculptures, paintings, photographs, and more from local artists. Each listing includes a link to the artist's sites, where you'll be able to view all of their items and purchase them online. You can check that page out HERE. You can also view items on the Marion Arts Festival Facebook page HERE.

It's also important to note that the Marion Arts Festival half-marathon and 5K will not be happening in 2021. Next year's event will take place Saturday, May 21st.
