So long, summer 2020. It's been... interesting.

Lots of summer events here in Eastern Iowa were canceled or postponed this year because of the coronavirus pandemic, but others were able to happen with some big changes. One of the popular events that had to be altered was the Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market. All of this year's markets were held drive-thru style, with customers able to pick out their items online in advance and then pick them up from the safety of their car on the actual day of the market.

This Saturday, September 19th is the final Downtown Farmers Market of the year. You will be able to pick up your order between 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, but only if you place that order by this Thursday, September 17 at 6:00 p.m. You can shop via Shop Where I Live HERE.

I just looked over the items available at the September 19th Drive-Thru Market and there are a ton of options. You can choose from baked goods, clothing/accessories, home decor, pet products, natural items, prepared food & drinks, meat, produce, and more. Also available at the final market will be a Quaker Oats gift bag full of products. Those cost $10 and ALL of the proceeds benefit Deafinitely Dogs in Cedar Rapids.

The Cedar Rapids website gives specific directions for order pickup:

"On the morning of the market, you’ll enter at Second Ave and Sixth Street SE going westbound. As you enter, you’ll receive a market map with a full list and location for all vendors. On the back of the map, there is space for you to write the last name of who placed the order and the order number - so remember to bring something to write with! And be sure to display the map in your windshield so vendors can grab your items as you pull up. You MUST ENTER 30 MINUTES BEFORE THE MARKET CLOSES to allow time to drive through the market and pick up your items."
