The Best Midwest Cities to Spend a Weekend In
The website Thrillist recently put together a list of the 25 best U.S. cities to visit for a weekend, and several Midwest cities made the cut!
Maybe it's because I've spent my entire life here, but I think the Midwest is a highly underrated region. East and West-coasters can make jokes about us all they want, but there are actually a lot of wonderful things to experience in our neck of the woods. I came across an article from Thrillist this morning titled "The 25 Best US Cities to Spend a Weekend." Unfortunately, no Iowa cities made the list, but there were some Midwest representatives on there! If you're thinking about taking a little weekend trip, you may want to consider checking out one of these places:
Sioux Falls, South Dakota (25th place)
- Thrillist recommendations: Downtown, the sculpture walk, Falls Park, East Bank, Monks House of Ale Repute, Parker’s Bistro, and CH Patisserie (ranked one of the best bakeries in America)
Kansas City, Missouri (24th place)
- Thrillist recommendations: Boulevard Brewing, Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que, Green Lady Lounge, the National World War I Museum, and Westport
Cleveland, Ohio (20th place)
- Thrillist recommendations: Great Lakes Brewing, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Coventry, House of Blues, Jack Casino, and Hofbrauhaus
Madison, Wisconsin (18th place)
- Thrillist recommendations: Mickies Dairy Bar, Memorial Union Terrace, Bascom Hill, Henry Vilas Zoo, and Camp Randall Stadium
Chicago, Illinois also made the list, coming in at #13.
