There are beer drinkers, and then there are beer connoisseurs. If your idea of a great beer is the light one on sale at your local grocery store, that's fine. But if you like darker, more complex tastes and textures, then this is going to be the list for you. The American Homebrewers Association released its annual rankings of the best beers in America, and the best beer in all 50 states. If you're fan of hops, then read on!

The results are in, and these are the top five, best beers in America.

  1. Bell's Two Hearted Ale
  2. Russian River Pliny the Elder
  3. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
  4. The Alchemist Heady Topper
  5. Bell's Hopslam

Bell's Brewery in Michigan landed two beers in the top five, and their Two Hearted Ale took the top spot in America for the fourth year in a row! Not only did they figure out the best beers in the U.S., but they also broke it down by state. Congratulations to the winner of the best beer in Iowa, PseudoSue Pale Ale by Toppling Goliath Brewing Company!
