According to CBS2, "The city of Cedar Falls will hold a silent vigil in honor of George Floyd, who was killed while in custody in Minneapolis on May 25th."

The vigil will be held at this Saturday, June 6th at Overman Park in Cedar Falls. The event is open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m.

The Mayor of Cedar Falls is Rob Green. Mr. Green was quoted in the CBS2 story and he said, "It's vital that Cedar Falls take a visible stand against racial injustice."

Here in Cedar Rapids, there will be a "Peaceful Protest" in Green Square Park this Saturday, June 6th. The event will begin at 5 p.m. and and wrap up a few hours later. I spoke with organizers of the event, and they told me the intent is to keep everything peaceful with this demonstration.
