Sick Of The Cold? You’ll Love This Warmer Eastern Iowa Forecast

It certainly didn't take long for winter weather to take hold across Eastern Iowa. Two to three inches of snow over the weekend gave us bitterly cold temperatures. This morning, most areas across the state saw lows in the single digits!

But what is the old saying? If you don't like the weather in Iowa...just wait five minutes! Or in this case, a day or two. Highs on Monday and Tuesday only reached the 20s. But starting today, we're headed back into the 40s. And the great news is that according to the National Weather Service, the warmer temperatures will last right into next week too!

The National Weather Service is predicting that there is a 50-60% chance of higher-than-normal temperatures from December 2nd through the 6th. In case you were wondering, the average high for this time of year is the middle 30s to low 40s. We should be in the middle 40s this week and again next week as well.

So what about more snow? According to our weather partners over at KCRG TV-9, there is a slight change of snow over the weekend, right around 30%. But once Monday hits, the rest of next week looks dry and warmer than your average first week of December!

Sure, that is bad news for those of you who love the snow and winter activities like skiing and riding snowmobiles. Personally, I'm fine with a brown Christmas and a brown New Year's! Please...just don't tell my kids!
