Shamrock Shake Celebrates 50th Anniversary [VIDEO]

The year was 1970. Richard Nixon was President. The Beatles broke up. It was also the year that fast food restaurant McDonald's unleashed one of their most popular seasonal treats. The Shamrock Shake. The green treat which is brought back annually to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year! And when it returns, it will bring some changes along with it!

The Shamrock Shake returns on February 19th and for the first time, it will be available at McDonald's locations nationwide. Last year you had to use a tracker app to find it! There will also be a new version of the minty shake, the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry.

February 19th will be here before you know it! Get ready for Shamrock Shake season!
