Scouting For Food Is About To Begin
The Boy Scouts of America (Hawkeye Area Council) is about to kick-off its annual Scouting for Food campaign. The Scouts will take to the streets this weekend collecting donations in their neighborhoods for the needy.
The Scouts are asking that all citizens who wish to donate, simply place a bag of non-perishable food on their doorstep. The food drive is happening this Saturday morning, November 3rd. Local troops and packs will pick up the bags and all donations and deliver to the HACAP food reservoir.
If you normally get a bag but did not receive one this year, please use your own bag as they will be coming to the regular drop off route just like in past years. If you want to make a cash donation, simply visit your local HACAP food pantry.
The Boy Scouts (Hawkeye Area Council) serves 5,665 youth in Benton, Linn. Jones, Iowa, Johnson, Cedar and Washington counties here in Iowa.
If you know of someone who is interested in joining the Scouts, please contact the Hawkeye Area Council Service at this link.
