CBS2 News reports three people were injured Saturday morning in a house fire on Cedar Rapids' Northeast side.

Cedar Rapids Fire Department was called to 877 Daniels St. NE at 5:18 A.M. in response to reports of a porch on fire.

By the time crews arrived, the front of the two-story home was engulfed in flames. Reports say the home sustained significant smoke and fire damage.

CBS2 News said "six people were home at the time of the fire. All escaped on their own, but one did need help getting further away from the burning building. Two women and one man were taken to St. Luke's hospital. Their conditions are not known at this time."

The release on the fire said the home's smoke alarms were not working properly. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
