Now that fall has arrived, pumpkin spice season is in full swing! In honor of the change in season, Google Trends has revealed the most "uniquely searched" pumpkin spice food and drinks for each state in 2022. Here in Iowa, that pumpkin spice product is Chex Mix.

After doing a quick search for Pumpkin Spice Chex Mix, I discovered that it's not an actual product that is on the market right now. But, there are a ton of recipes for folks that want to make their own, including one on the Chex website! The recipe calls for Cinnamon Chex, Wheat Chex, Honey Nut Chex, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, butter, vanilla, and pecans. You can check out the instructions HERE.

If you want to take things one step further, you can try the Pumpkin Spice Latte Chex Mix! That one contains Cinnamon Chex, butter, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla, white vanilla baking chips, and powdered sugar. See the full recipe HERE.

According to Google Trends, the only other U.S. state to do a bunch of searching for Pumpkin Spice Chex Mix is our neighbors up in Minnesota. The rest of the Midwest have been searching for different pumpkin spice products. Here are the results for other surrounding states:

  • Wisconsin - Pumpkin Spice Scones
  • Illinois - Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer
  • Missouri - Pumpkin Spice Coffee Syrup
  • Nebraska - Pumpkin Spice Muffins
  • South Dakota - Pumpkin Spice Wine

Most of those sound pretty normal to me, but pumpkin spice wine?! I had no idea that was even a thing! I was also surprised to see Pumpkin Spice Cup Noodles, Pumpkin Spice Spam, and Pumpkin Spice Hummus on the list. You can check out the Google searches for all 50 states on the map below.
