According to Iowa's News Now/CBS2, "Police in Marion are investigating a possible hate crime after racial slurs were found spray painted on a home."

A picture was posted to Facebook and it showed a woman's home that had been a victim of vandalism. I didn't want to post the picture, but I will tell you the N-word is what was painted on the side of her garage.

Marion police are now investigating the incident. The FBI and the U.S. Attorney's Office is also assisting with the case. Local authorities are also asking for the community to help out.

If you may have any information on who may have done this, please call (319) 377-1511. The Marion police could really use your help.

The city of Marion released a statement that said:

"Hate has no place in Marion. We must stand up to hate and we must protect our neighbors. Every Marion resident has the right to feel secure, safe and welcomed in the place they call home."

I really hope they find the person that did this. We don't need this kind of crap here in our community. My heart goes out to the woman who owns the home where this awful incident happened.
