Popular Corridor Italian Eatery Opens New Location Today

A new Zio Johno's location opens today in Cedar Rapids.

3120 Edgewood Rd. SW used to be home to Fazoli's Italian restaurant, and when that closed, Zio's owner Eli Khairallah stepped in. He says remodeling the new location cost just about as much as remodeling his Zio Johno's at 2925 Williams Parkway location would have, but with better visibility. The Williams Parkway location (near Mid-American Aerospace and Capri College) has been under a lease and was reportedly set to close Wednesday night.

He says there's another bonus at the new spot, too. "We have much better visibility at our new location and we are able to have a pickup window for orders that are phoned in ahead of time."

Khairallah is also moving his Iowa City location, from 953 S. Riverside Dr. to 424 Highway 1 in the old Paul's Discount.

The new Zio Johno's at 3120 Edgewood Rd. SW opens today at 10:30 a.m.
