Spring is right around the corner, and nothing goes better with warmer weather than ICE CREAM!

As of yesterday, March 1st, Parlor City Ice Cream at 1936 42nd Street NE in Cedar Rapids is open for the season. Parlor City is a "small family owned business that has proudly served our community for over 60 years." The shop officially closed for the winter back in early December, but now that the worst of it seems to be over, they're up and running once again!

Parlor City offers much more than just ice cream. In addition to the fresh, reduced-fat soft-serve and our the 'Low-Fat Yogurt of the Day,' they also serve over 50 different flavors of shakes & malts, ice cream novelties, "The Freez" (which is similar to a DQ Blizzard), slushies, sundaes, floats, and more. If you're hungry for actual food, options include tenderloins, chili dogs, burgers, fries, walking tacos, pulled pork, onion rings, and their Famous BBQ Beef. The current menu is posted below.

For the time being, Parlor City Ice Cream is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. You can keep up with the latest info by following them on Facebook HERE.

Another popular summer ice cream spot is Kool Moo at 1020 Old Marion Rd NE in Cedar Rapids. Unfortunately, there is no word yet on when they plan to officially open for the season, but you can follow their Facebook page HERE to be the first to know when they make the 2022 announcement.
