Two Businesses Revealed For New Building in Northeast Cedar Rapids

Nine years ago this month, Hunter Companies of Cedar Rapids announced plans to buy the former Nash Finch property, across from Target on Blairs Ferry Road. The transformation to a busy retail center continues.

Now known as Northtowne Market, the area continues to add new businesses. The development is home to Collins Community Credit Union's corporate headquarters, which includes several businesses on the ground floor.

Northtowne Market is home to a host of other buildings and businesses, with a Take 5 Oil Change currently under construction, near Burger King.

Additionally, it appears a new building under construction will add three more businesses to the development. Two of the three have been confirmed.

Starbucks will be opening at least their 13th Cedar Rapids location in a new building at 1111 Blairs Ferry Road NE. It's located between Collins Community Credit Union and a building that houses U.S. Cellular and Moe's Southwest Grill, among others.

A building permit for Starbucks was issued for the property by the City of Cedar Rapids in the middle of July. There's no word on when the new 2,220-square-foot location will open.

In the same building will be the first Cedar Rapids location of Chapter Aesthetic Studio. A permit for remodeling for an aesthetic studio at 1111 Blairs Ferry Road NE was issued by the City of Cedar Rapids in mid-April. The business will occupy 3,500 square feet in the new building, according to Loop Net.

According to their website, "Chapter Aesthetic Studio and Med Spa is here to make beautiful happen. Our treatments and services will help you express the best version of yourself."

There are currently 17 Chapter Aesthetic Studio locations in the central and eastern U.S., including Iowa stores in Coralville, Davenport, Sioux City, and West Des Moines.

Though an opening date hasn't been confirmed, Chapter Aesthetic Studio has begun to hire for the Cedar Rapids location.

The center of the building, which has 1,719 square feet, is still available.
