You read that right. 120 on tap and all made in the Hawkeye state.

Our huge Cedar Rapids Beer Summit is now just days away and we knew that a craft beer aficionado like yourself would want to know about a brand new Iowa bar that, literally, has that many Iowa-made beers on tap.

Iowa Taproom opened today in Des Moines. It's big. 7,200 square feet big with all those beers dispensed from a massive Sukup silo encircled by taps. 120 of 'em. Take a look.

Some of the breweries with beers on tap at Iowa Taproom include Amana's Millstream Brewery, Cedar Rapids' Keg Creek, Coralville's Backpocket, and Kalona.

Jeff Bruning, one of the people behind the new craft brew behemoth, says they hope to expand their selections by about 20 within a couple of years. Bruning told the Des Moines Register that Iowa Brewers Guild believes nearly 55 breweries opened in Iowa last year and that, "Brewing is something Iowa should be proud of."

It definitely sounds like a visit is in order the next time you're in Des Moines, but you'll find four of the state's top five breweries and more than 100 craft beers and ciders right here in Cedar Rapids Saturday, March 12 at the Cedar Rapids Beer Summit at the DoubleTree by Hilton downtown. See the complete list of breweries and beers and ciders and get more details here and buy tickets below. They're just $30 in advance for three hours of unlimited sampling. Where else are you gonna find THAT deal?!
