National Fragrance Day is This Wednesday. But Why?
In case you missed it: this Wednesday, March 21 is National Fragrance Day! No one even knows who invented it or why we celebrate it. But still, it's a thing. (For the record, it's also my birthday. My favorite cologne is Joop! Just in case you're wondering. Flowers smell nice too, hint hint.)
We all like pleasant scents, and that's apparently what this day is about. On your body, around the house, out in nature or wherever. But there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. So what is the proper etiquette for wearing your favorite perfume or cologne? For reference, just remember back to your Grandpa or your Uncle Jimmy at the family gathering--and use about a third of that much.
And for goodness sake, stay away from the Axe!
Whatever kind you use--two sprays, tops.
Also, a spritz or two of cologne should never be a substitute for proper hygiene, if you know what I mean.
Opinions vary, but most people say if someone can smell your fragrance from more than arm's length away, you've already overdone it. You might be used to spraying it on your neck or chest but it turns out that might not the best place to apply it.
But more importantly, did I just meander through an entire blog about National Fragrance Day?
