My friend, Kevin Holm, woke up to a harsh reality this morning. Not one, but two of the family's vehicles were broken into on the north side of Marion last night.

I spoke with Sgt. Holland of the Marion Police Department this morning, who reported there had been an outbreak of vandalism on the city's north side Tuesday night. He couldn't tell me an exact number of vehicles or buildings that were involved, but did say the vandalism wasn't widespread.

Kevin tells me that in addition to his daughter's car and his truck being broken into, his neighbor's truck was stolen. The truck contained tools and Christmas presents. He also reports the officer who came to his home this morning told him there had been multiple vehicle break-ins and a garage break-in.

According to a Wednesday late-afternoon release from the Marion Police Department, the break-ins occurred between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. today. They were located on Isham Drive, Larick Court, and McGown Boulevard.

The police department also released these two photos of a possible suspect they're trying to identify.
